Its hard not to like Big Daddy, but diehard fans of Adam Sandler may well cringe at this one more step in sentimentalization of comic actor. For though this film hackles raised the number of hypersensitive worrywarts his seeming approval of permissive parenting, the film is, in fact, much more tender heart than a hard edge. Indeed, it appears, probably the wisest course for Sandler to go in at the moment because, as an actor, he gives a sense of genuine likability that fits well with his person Average Joe.
